Vine hills, golden-stone villages and the cellars under them. Weighing up a
Beaujolais tour? These are the places your day takes you.
The set opens in the north, among the crus. The chapel on the summit of Mont Brouilly
stands above the vines that climb to it, and the windmill of Moulin-à-Vent turns above its
rows. Then the wide views: vines falling to the Saône plain, a valley of vines and a
farmhouse, young staked vines below a church tower.
Next you are in the south, the Pierres Dorées. A village strung along a hilltop, tiled
roofs seen from above, golden walls framing a green slope, a cart wheel on ochre stone, a
chapel in evening light, and half-timbered houses round a cobbled square.
The vines come through the year: straight rows and a lone tree, roses at a row's end,
autumn orange in low sun. The set ends underground, among barrels under stone vaults, cages
of bottles, old vintages of Juliénas and a glass engraved Régnié.
