Every Beaujolais wine day starts in Lyon or at a station you reach from it. You walk to a kerb on Place Bellecour, wait at your hotel, or take the train north to meet a vintage car. Know which before you compare Beaujolais ticket prices.
The Beaujolais begins less than 30 minutes' drive north of Lyon. The golden-stone south is the nearest half, and the crus lie further up the 55 km strip, towards Mâcon. A half day in the south spends more of its four hours tasting and less on the road.
None of these days starts at Lyon airport. Get to your Lyon address or to Part-Dieu station first; from there, every start below is within your reach.
Place Bellecour is the large square in Lyon 2e, and the shared days start there. There are two meeting points on it, and the wrong one costs you the tour.
Arrive early. One wine route half day asks you to be there 15 minutes before, and the Golden Stones half day ten. The afternoon crus tour meets at 1:50 pm and leaves at 2:00 pm. All the Bellecour days are on the beaujolais wine tour from lyon page.

The vintage car days meet you at Belleville-sur-Saône station, 15 boulevard Gambetta, in a vintage Land Rover or Defender. You take the train from Lyon Part-Dieu, about half an hour. Part-Dieu is reached by metro or bus from the rest of the city.
Check the SNCF timetable for your date the day before. The vintage Defenders have no seat belts, which matters if you travel with children.
The private winter day meets you at Mâcon Ville station at 9:30 am. You receive the train tickets, the timetable and the directions from Part-Dieu when you book. A private car from Lyon is sold at a higher fare.
Mâcon Ville is a small station with a single exit, so you cannot miss the vintage car outside. The day then drives south into the crus, to Romanèche-Thorins and Fleurie.
You can drive the Beaujolais wine route yourself, and stop wherever you like. The estates pour by appointment, and the Maison du Terroir in Oingt is one place to taste without one.
The catch is the glass. Whoever drives cannot taste like a passenger. If everyone in your party wants to taste, book a day with a driver, or read tasting without a tour for the other way to do it.

Wheelchair users have two choices: the vintage Land Rover day and the private winter day. The shared days say they are not wheelchair accessible.
Walk to Place Bellecour for a shared day, or let a private day collect you.
